Hadith 1410

أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ. وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ: بَيْعُ التَّمْرِ بِالتَّمْرِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ أَرْخَصَ فِي الْعَرَايَا. أَخْرَجَ السَّبْعَةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْبُيُوعِ.
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Muzabana, and Muzabana is that the dates on the tree are sold in exchange for dried dates. However, he (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted it in the case of 'Ariya.
