Hadith 1396

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "إِنَّمَا الرِّبَا فِي النَّسِيئَةِ" . أَخْرَجَهُ مِنَ الْجُزْءِ الثَّانِي مِنَ اخْتِلَافِ الْحَدِيثِ.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Riba (usury) occurs only in the case of credit."
