Hadith 139

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ نَخْرُجُ نَتَنَاضَلُ حَتَّى نَدْخُلَ بُيُوتَ بَنِي سَلَمَةَ نَنْظُرُ إِلَى مَوَاقِعِ النَّبْلِ مِنَ الْإِسْفَارِ.
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We used to perform the Maghrib prayer with the Prophet (peace be upon him), then go out for archery until we would enter the houses of Banu Salamah (tribe), and because of the light, we could see the place where the arrow fell.
