Hadith 1374

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ. وَأَخْبَرَنَا الثِّقَةُ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "الْمُتَبَايِعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا، فَإِنْ صَدَقَا وَبَيَّنَا، وَجَبَتِ الْبَرَكَةُ فِي بَيْعِهِمَا، وَإِنْ كَذَبَا وَكَتَمَا مُحِقَتِ الْبَرَكَةُ مِنْ بَيْعِهِمَا" .
Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The buyer and the seller have the option (to cancel the transaction) as long as they have not separated. If they both speak the truth and do not conceal any defect, then blessing is decreed for their transaction. But if they lie and conceal defects, the blessing is erased from their transaction."
