أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ وَعُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ: أَنَّهُمْ سَمِعُوا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: سَأَلْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَحْرَيْنِ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ تَطْلِيقَةً أَوْ تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا، فَتَزَوَّجَهَا رَجُلٌ غَيْرُهُ ثُمَّ طَلَّقَهَا أَوْ مَاتَ عَنْهَا ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَهَا زَوْجُهَا الْأَوَّلُ؟ قَالَ: هِيَ عِنْدَهُ مَا بَقِيَ. أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ الرَّجْعَةِ.
Humaid bin Abdur Rahman bin Awf, Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah, and Sulaiman bin Yasar narrate that they heard Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I asked Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) about the man from the people of Bahrain who gave his wife one or two divorces, then her waiting period ended, and then another man married her, then he also divorced her or he died, then her first husband married her again. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Now this husband will have the right to the remaining (divorces)."
