Hadith 1272

أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: لِكُلِّ مُطَلَّقَةٍ مُتْعَةٌ إِلَّا الَّتِي فُرِضَ لَهَا الصَّدَاقُ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ بِهَا فَحَسْبُهَا نِصْفُ الْمَهْرِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to say: "Every divorced woman is entitled to mut‘ah (a parting gift) except for the woman whose dowry has been fixed and then she is divorced before consummation; in that case, half of her dowry will be counted for her."
