أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهَا تَقُولُ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةُ رِفَاعَةَ، يَعْنِي: الْقُرَظِيَّ، إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رِفَاعَةَ، فَطَلَّقَنِي فَبَتَّ طَلَاقِي، فَتَزَوَّجْتُ بَعْدَهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزَّبِيرِ، وَإِنَّمَا مَعَهُ مِثْلُ هُدْبَةِ الثَّوْبِ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: "تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَرْجِعِي إِلَى رِفَاعَةَ؟ لَا حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَكِ وَتَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ" . وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَخَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ بِالْبَابِ يَنْتَظِرُ أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَهُ فَنَادَى: يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ، أَلَا تَسْمَعُ مَا تَجْهَرُ بِهِ هَذِهِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. أَخْرَجَ الْأَوَّلَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الرِّسَالَةِ وَالثَّانِيَ وَالثَّالِثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الرَّجْعَةِ وَالرَّابِعَ مِنَ الْجُزْءِ الثَّانِي مِنَ اخْتِلَافِ الْحَدِيثِ.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the wife of Rifa’ah Al-Qurazi came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: “I was with Rifa’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) and he divorced me three times. Then after him, I married Abdur Rahman bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), and with him, he is like the edge of a garment (i.e., he is impotent).” Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said: “Do you wish to return to Rifa’ah? This cannot happen until he tastes your sweetness and you taste his sweetness.” Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, while Khalid bin Sa’id bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) was standing at the door waiting for permission. He called out: “O Abu Bakr! Do you not hear what this woman is saying to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?”
