It is narrated from the noble wife of the Prophet ﷺ, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that the wife of Rifa’ah (al-Qurazi) came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Rifa’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) divorced me, and it was an irrevocable (final) divorce. Then ‘Abdur Rahman bin Zubair married me, but he has something like the edge of a garment (i.e., he is impotent). So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Do you wish to return to Rifa’ah? That is not permissible until you taste his (your current husband’s) sweetness and he tastes yours.”
