قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي كِتَابِهِ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ شَبِيبِ بْنِ غَرْقَدَةَ، عَنْ حِبَّانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ عَلِيًّا وَهُوَ يُعَسْكِرُ بِدَيْرِ أَبِي مُوسَى، فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَطْعَمُ، فَقَالَ: ادْنُ فَكُلْ. قُلْتُ: إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الصَّوْمَ. قَالَ: وَأَنَا أُرِيدُهُ، فَدَنَوْتُ فَأَكَلْتُ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ: يَابْنَ التَّيَّاحِ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ.
Hibban bin Harith says: I came to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was at Abu Musa's house with the army. I saw that he was eating food. He said: "Come, eat food." I said, I intend to fast. So he said, I also had the same intention, then I also ate food. When we finished eating, he said: "O son of Tiyah! Come, let us pray."
