Hadith 1224

It is narrated from Sulaiman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) that I saw more than ten companions of the Prophet ﷺ who would stop a person who had taken an oath of abstinence (ila) and ask him (to either reconcile or divorce). Imam Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The minimum number for (bidh’atu ‘ashar) is thirteen, and he also said that they were the Ansar companions (may Allah be pleased with them).
