Hadith 1215

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ: أَنَّ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ كَانَتْ عِنْدَ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، فَكَرِهَ مِنْهَا أَمْرًا؛ إِمَّا كِبْرًا أَوْ غَيْرَهُ، فَأَرَادَ طَلَاقَهَا فَقَالَتْ: لَا تُطَلِّقْنِي، وَأَمْسِكْنِي وَاقْسِمْ لِي مَا بَدَا لَكَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَإِنِ امْرَأَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنْ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزًا [النِّسَاءِ: 128] الْآيَةَ.
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that the daughter of Muhammad bin Maslamah was married to Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him). Due to old age or some other reason, he began to dislike her. When he intended to divorce her, his wife said: "Do not divorce me, keep me with you and decide about my turn as you wish." Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "And if a woman fears indifference from her husband..." __QUR_N__
