Hadith 1210

أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، أَنَّ هِنْدَ بِنْتَ عُتْبَةَ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ رَجُلٌ شَحِيحٌ وَلَيْسَ لِي مِنْهُ إِلَّا مَا يُدْخِلُ عَلَيَّ. فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "خُذِي مَا يَكْفِيكِ وَوَلَدَكِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ" .
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Hind bint Utbah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Abu Sufyan is a miserly man and I only have that much expenditure which he gives me (which is insufficient)." So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Take from his wealth, according to what is customary, enough for you and your children."
