أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحَجَبِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْمَحِيضِ، فَقَالَ: "خُذِي فُرْضَةً مِنْ مِسْكٍ فَتَطَهَّرِي بِهَا" . فَقَالَتْ: كَيْفَ أَتَطَهَّرُ بِهَا؟ قَالَ: "تَطَهَّرِي بِهَا" . قَالَتْ: كَيْفَ أَتَطَهَّرُ بِهَا؟ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، وَاسْتَتَرَ بِثَوْبِهِ، تَطَهَّرِي بِهَا" ، فَاجْتَذَبْتُهَا وَعَرَفْتُ الَّذِي أَرَادَ. فَقُلْتُ لَهَا: تَتَبَّعِي بِهَا آثَارَ الدَّمِ، يَعْنِي: الْفَرْجَ. أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْوُضُوءِ.
Narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about the ritual bath after menstruation. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Take a piece of cotton with musk and purify yourself with it." The woman asked: "How should I purify myself with it?" The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Purify yourself with it." She asked: "How should I purify myself with it?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "Subhan Allah! Subhan Allah!" and covered himself with a cloth, [saying] "Purify yourself with it." (Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, says) I pulled her towards me and understood what the Prophet ﷺ meant, then I said to her: "Wipe it over the place where the blood was."
