Hadith 1059

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، [ ص: 305 ] عَنْ أُمِّهِ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: أَتَتْنِي أُمِّي رَاغِبَةً فِي عَهْدِ قُرَيْشٍ، فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصِلُهَا؟ قَالَ: "نَعَمْ" .
It is narrated from Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them) who said: My mother came to me during the time of the Quraysh and she was not a Muslim. I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) whether I should maintain ties of kinship with her. He (ﷺ) said: "Yes."
