Hadiths 1401 to 1499
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا أَخْطَأْتُ وَمَا تَعَمَّدْتُ
O Allah, forgive me for what I have erred and what I have done intentionally
Hadith 1479
1479 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْمُحْسِنُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْكِرَامِ، ثنا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِابْنِ الْجِرَابِ، أبنا ابْنُ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ مِنْ دُعَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا أَخْطَأْتُ وَمَا تَعَمَّدْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، وَمَا جَهِلْتُ وَمَا تَعَمَّدْتُ»
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that one of the supplications of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was: "O Allah! Forgive my sins which I committed by mistake and those I committed deliberately, those I committed secretly and those I committed openly, those I committed unknowingly and those I committed knowingly."
Hadith 1480
1480 - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، أنا الْقَاضِي أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسٍ، نا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، نا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، نا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ الْمُعْتَمِرِ، حَدَّثَنِي رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: جَاءَ حُصَيْنٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، عَبْدُ الْمُطَّلِبِ خَيْرٌ لِقَوْمِهِ، كَانَ يُطْعِمُ الْكَبِدَ وَالسَّنَامَ، وَأَنْتَ تَنْحَرُهُمْ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ حَصِينًا قَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، مَا تَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أَقُولَ؟ فَقَالَ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَعْزِمَ لِي عَلَى رُشْدِ أَمْرِي» ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ إِنَّ حَصِينًا أَسْلَمَ بَعْدُ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي كُنْتُ سَأَلْتُكَ الْمَرَّةَ الْأُولَى، أَلَا وَأَقُولُ لَكَ مَا تَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أَقُولَ؟ قَالَ: «قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، وَمَا أَخْطَأْتُ وَمَا تَعَمَّدْتُ، وَمَا جَهِلْتُ وَمَا عَلِمْتُ»
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Husayn, before accepting Islam, came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Muhammad (peace be upon him)! Abdul Muttalib was better for his people; he used to feed them the liver and hump meat (of animals), whereas you slaughter these (animals) completely. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied as Allah willed. Then Husayn said: Muhammad (peace be upon him)! What do you command me to recite? He (peace be upon him) said: "O Allah! Indeed, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, and I ask You to grant me steadfastness in my good deeds." He (Imran) says: After that, Husayn accepted Islam, then came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Indeed, I asked you the first time, and now again I ask you, what do you command me to recite? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Say: "O Allah! Forgive my sins which I committed secretly and openly, those I committed by mistake and those I committed deliberately, those I committed unknowingly and those I committed knowingly."
