Hadith 1463
1463 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْكَاتِبُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَمْدُونٍ بِبَالِسَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي إِبْرَاهِيمُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ "
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty says: Grandeur is My cloak and greatness is My lower garment, so whoever tries to take any one of them from Me, I will throw him into the Fire."
Hadith 1464
1464 - وأنا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأُدْفُوِيُّ، أنا أَبُو الطَّيِّبِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ إِجَازَةً، نا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ الطَّبَرِيُّ، نا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَا: ثنا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، نا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ رَبِّهِ، تَعَالَى قَالَ: «الْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي وَالْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي جَهَنَّمَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who narrates from his Lord, the Exalted, that He said: "Majesty is My lower garment and greatness is My cloak, so whoever tries to snatch any one of them from Me, I will throw him into Hell."
Hadith 1465
1465 - نا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْفَارِسِيُّ، لَفْظًا مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصُّوفِيُّ، نا يُوسُفُ أَبُو يَعْقُوبَ الْأَنْبَارِيُّ، نا جَدِّي، نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رَفَعَهُ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَوَقَفَهُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: " قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي فِيهِمَا أُلْقِهِ فِي النَّارِ "
Sufyan narrated this tradition once as a marfu’ (attributed) to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and once as mawquf (stopped) at Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): “Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: ‘Grandeur is My cloak and greatness is My lower garment, so whoever tries to snatch any of these from Me, I will throw him into the Fire.’”
