Hadiths 1401 to 1499
هَذَا دِينٌ ارْتَضَيْتُهُ لِنَفْسِي، وَلَنْ يُصْلِحَهُ إِلَّا السَّخَاءُ وَحُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ
This is a religion I have chosen for Myself, and nothing will set it right except generosity and good character
Hadith 1461
1461 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْأُمَوِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمِّيَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ: قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: هَذَا دِينٌ ارْتَضَيْتُهُ لِنَفْسِي، وَلَنْ يُصْلِحَهُ إِلَّا السَّخَاءُ وَحُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ، فَأَكْرِمُوهُ بِهِمَا مَا صَحِبْتُمُوهُ "
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Jibril (peace be upon him) said that Allah Almighty says: I have chosen this religion for Myself, and nothing can keep it upright except generosity and good character, so honor and dignify it through both of them as long as you remain with it.”
