رُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ
Perhaps a carrier of jurisprudence conveys it to one more understanding than himself
Hadith 1421
1421 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أبنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فِرَاسٍ، أبنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْخَيْفِ مِنْ مِنًى فَقَالَ: «نَضَّرَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَوَعَاهَا، ثُمَّ أَدَّاهَا إِلَى مَنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهَا، فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَا فِقْهَ لَهُ، وَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ» وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood at the place of Khayf in Mina and said: “May Allah keep fresh and flourishing the person who hears my words, preserves them, and then conveys them to those who have not heard them. Sometimes the bearer of knowledge (fiqh) is not himself a faqih (jurist), and sometimes the bearer of knowledge conveys it to one who is more learned than himself.” And he narrated the complete hadith.
