Hadith 1406
1406 - أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُكْتِبُ، قَالَ: أبنا جَدِّي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ بُنْدَارِ بْنِ خَيْرٍ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ فِيلٍ، ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا اشْتَكَى الْمُؤْمِنُ أَخْلَصَهُ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ كَمَا يُخْلِصُ الْكِيرُ الْخَبَثَ مِنَ الْحَدِيدِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a believer is afflicted with any hardship, it cleanses him of sins just as a furnace cleans iron of impurities."
Hadith 1407
1407 - وأنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْفَرْضِيُّ، نا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، نا أَبُو عَذْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا مَرِضَ نَقَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ الْخَطَايَا فِي مَرَضِهِ كَمَا يُنَقِّي الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ»
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when a servant becomes ill, Allah removes his sins during his illness just as a furnace removes impurities from iron."
