Hadith 1357
1357 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، أبنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ طَالِبٍ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خَلَّادٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، صَاحِبُ الْبَصْرِيِّ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مَنْجُوفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْقَوِيِّ كَمَثَلِ النَّخْلَةِ وَمَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الضَّعِيفِ كَمَثَلِ الْخَامَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that indeed the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The example of a strong believer is like that of a date palm tree, and the example of a weak believer is like that of a young plant."
Hadith 1358
1358 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَبَّادٍ ذُو النُّونِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّائِغُ، ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ اللُّغَوِيِّ، أبنا عَبْدَانُ هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، صَاحِبُ الْبَصْرِيَّ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مَنْجُوفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْقَوِيِّ كَمَثَلِ النَّخْلَةِ وَمَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الضَّعِيفِ كَخَامَةِ الزَّرْعِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of a strong believer is like that of a date palm tree, and the example of a weak believer is like that of a young plant in a field."
Hadith 1359
1359 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، قَالَ: أبنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَزَّازُ، أبنا خَلَّادُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا لَيْثٌ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: صَحِبْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ فَمَا حَدَّثَنِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ وَحْدَهُ، وَفِيهِ: «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ. . .» هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فِي كِتَابِ الْأَمْثَالِ لِلرَّامَهْرَمَزِيِّ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خَلَّادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ وَفِيهِ «مَثَلُ النَّخْلَةِ وَكَخَامَةِ الزَّرْعِ»
Mujahid says that I accompanied Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) between Makkah and Madinah (on the way), and he did not narrate to me any hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him) except this single hadith, and in it was: "The example of the believer." This hadith is narrated in Hasan bin Abdur Rahman bin Khallad Ramahurmuzi's book "Kitab al-Amthal" with a chain from Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Musa from Sulaiman bin Ayyub, and in it is: "(The example of the strong believer) is like a date palm, and (the example of the weak believer) is like a young plant of a crop."
