Hadith 1355
1355 - أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، أبنا جَدِّي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ قَاضِي أَذَنَةَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ فِيلٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أبنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ كَمَثَلِ الْفَرَسِ يَجُولُ فِي آخِيَّتِهِ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى آخِيَّتِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "The example of a believer and his faith is like that of a horse tied to its stake, which jumps and leaps but then returns to its stake."
Hadith 1356
1356 - وأنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ النَّحَّاسِ، نا ابْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَأَبُو يَحْيَى بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ قَالَا: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، نا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَمَثَلُ الْإِيمَانِ كَمَثَلِ الْفَرَسِ عَلَى آخِيَّتِهِ يَجُولُ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى آخِيَّتِهِ، فَإِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يَجُولُ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى الْإِيمَانِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The example of a believer and his faith is like that of a horse tied to its stake, which jumps and leaps (away) but then returns to its stake. Indeed, the believer also jumps and leaps (i.e., forgets), but then returns to faith.”
