Hadith 1298
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was weeping, so he said: "Mu'adh! Why are you weeping?" He replied: "Because of the hadith which I heard from the one in this grave, meaning the Prophet (peace be upon him), that: 'Indeed, even a small amount of showing off is shirk, and the unknown pious people are Allah's beloved servants. When they are absent from a gathering, they are not sought after, and when they are present, they are not recognized. These people are the leaders of guidance and the lamps of knowledge.'"
