أَفْضَلُ الْفَضَائِلِ أَنْ تَصِلَ مَنْ قَطَعَكَ
The best virtue is to maintain ties with those who cut you off
Hadith 1289
1289 - أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَيْسَرَانِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا الْخَرَائِطِيُّ، ثنا الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ زَبَّانِ بْنِ فَائِدٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أَفْضَلُ الْفَضَائِلِ أَنْ تَصِلَ مَنْ قَطَعَكَ، وَتُعْطِيَ مَنْ حَرَمَكَ، وَتَصْفَحَ عَمْن ظَلَمَكَ»
Sahl bin Mu’adh narrates from his father, who narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: “The best deed is that you maintain ties with the one who severs relations with you, give to the one who deprives you, and forgive the one who wrongs you.”
