Hadith 1286
1286 - أَخْبَرَنَا قَاضِي الْقُضَاةِ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَوَّامِ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرُّعَيْنِيُّ، ثنا الصَّبَّاحِيُّ هُوَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أبنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَفْضَلُ الْجِهَادِ كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ عِنْدَ أَمِيرٍ جَائِرٍ»
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best jihad is to speak a word of truth before a tyrannical ruler.”
Hadith 1287
1287 - أنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْفَرْضِيُّ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الدَّقِيقِيُّ، نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَفْضَلُ الْجِهَادِ كَلِمَةُ عَدْلٍ عِنْدَ سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ أَوْ أَمِيرٍ جَائِرٍ»
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best jihad is to speak a word of truth and justice before a tyrannical ruler or a tyrannical leader.”
Hadith 1288
1288 - وَأَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمَيْمُونِ النَّصِيبِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُظَفَّرِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَيْشِيُّ، أبنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا، قَالَ عِنْدَ الْجَمْرَةِ الْأُولَى: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ؟» قَالَ: فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: هَا أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ: «أَفْضَلُ الْجِهَادِ مَنْ قَالَ كَلِمَةَ حَقٍّ عِنْدَ سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said near the first Jamrah: O Messenger of Allah! Which jihad is the best? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him, then he asked: "Where is that questioner?" The narrator says that the man said: O Messenger of Allah! I am here. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best jihad is that of a person who speaks a word of truth before a tyrant ruler."
