خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ أَوَّلُهَا، وَشَرُّهَا آخِرُهَا
The best rows for men are the first, and the worst are the last
Hadith 1256
1256 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْكِنْدِيُّ، أبنا أَبُو سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، قَالَ: ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ، ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، ثنا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ أَوَّلُهَا وَشَرُّهَا آخِرُهَا، وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ آخِرُهَا وَشَرُّهَا أَوَّلُهَا»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best rows among the men are their first rows, and the worst are their last rows; and the best rows among the women are their last rows, and the worst are their first rows.”
Hadith 1257
1257 - أنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمُعَدِّلُ، أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، نا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: وَذَكَرَهُ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said... and he narrated this hadith.
Hadith 1258
1258 - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْفَارِضِيُّ، أنا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْقَاضِي، نا أَبُو حَفْصٍ، عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بِالْبَصْرَةِ، نا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ مُقَدَّمُهَا، وَشَرُّهَا مُؤَخَّرُهَا، وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ مُؤَخَّرُهَا، وَشَرُّهَا مُقَدَّمُهَا»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best rows among the men's rows in prayer are the front rows, and the worst are the last rows. And the best rows among the women's rows are the last rows, and the worst are the front rows."
Hadith 1259
1259 - وأنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ، عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْجُدِّيُّ، نا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ النَّسَائِيُّ، أنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ أَوَّلُهَا، وَشَرُّهَا آخِرُهَا، وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ آخِرُهَا وَشَرُّهَا أَوَّلُهَا»
