It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Aktham bin Abi al-Junoon: "O Aktham! The best number of companions for a journey is four, and the best vanguard is of forty, and the best fighting group is of four hundred, and the best army is of four thousand. And an army of twelve thousand cannot be defeated merely due to lack of numbers. O Aktham!
