Hadith 1204
1204 - أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ، أبنا الْقَيْسَرَانِيُّ، أبنا الْخَرَائِطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو يُوسُفَ الْقَلُوسِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ عُقْبَةَ، - وَكَانَتِ، امْرَأَةَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ وَأُخْتَ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ لِأُمِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ - أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ بِكَذَّابٍ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ، فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا»
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the wife of Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) and the half-sister of Uthman bin Affan, that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That person is not a liar who reconciles between two people, so (for this purpose) he says a good word or conveys a good word."
Hadith 1205
1205 - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، أنا الْقَاضِي أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، نا مُوسَى، هُوَ ابْنُ هَارُونَ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زُنْبُورٍ، نا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ عُقْبَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَا يُرَخَّصُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْكَذِبِ إِلَّا فِي ثَلَاثٍ، كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: لَا أَعْتَدُّهُ كَذِبًا: الرَّجُلُ يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ يَقُولُ الْقَوْلَ يُرِيدُ بِهِ الصَّلَاحَ، وَالرَّجُلُ يَقُولُ الْقَوْلَ فِي الْحَرْبِ، وَالرَّجُلُ يُحَدِّثُ امْرَأَتَهُ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ تُحَدِّثُ زَوْجَهَا "
Sayyida Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is no concession for lying except in three things." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "I do not count these (three) as liars: the person who reconciles between people and says something (untrue) for the sake of reconciliation, and the person who says something (untrue) in war, and the person who says something (untrue) to his wife, and the wife who says something (untrue) to her husband."
Hadith 1206
1206 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، نا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ، نا الْبَغَوِيُّ، وَأَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ، قَالَا: نا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، نا وَهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، نا أَيُّوبُ، وَمَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ عُقْبَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا»
