لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يُوَقِّرِ الْكَبِيرَ وَيَرْحَمِ الصَّغِيرَ
He is not of us who does not honor the elder and show mercy to the young
Hadith 1203
1203 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، ثنا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يُوَقِّرِ الْكَبِيرَ وَيَرْحَمِ الصَّغِيرَ، وَيَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ، وَيَنْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not honor the elder, does not show mercy to the younger, does not enjoin good, and does not forbid evil, is not from among us."
