Hadiths 1001 to 1200
إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفُكُمْ فِيهَا، فَنَاظِرٌ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ
The world is sweet and green, and Allah will make you successors in it and see how you act
Hadith 1141
1141 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الْكَاتِبُ، أبنا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُظَفَّرِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفُكُمْ فِيهَا، فَنَاظِرٌ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ، فَاتَّقُوا الدُّنْيَا، وَاتَّقُوا النِّسَاءَ، وَمَا مِنْ كَلِمَةٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ كَلِمَةِ عَدْلٍ عِنْدَ إِمَامٍ جَائِرٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the world is very sweet and green, and indeed Allah Almighty will make you successors in it to see how you act. Therefore, beware of the world and beware of women, and there is no word superior to the word of truth spoken before a tyrant ruler."
Hadith 1142
1142 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا عَبَّاسٌ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ، ثُمَّ قَامَ خَطِيبًا، فَقَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ: «أَلَا إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفُكُمْ فِيهَا، فَنَاظِرٌ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ» ، وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَثْنًى وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْلَمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا نَضْرَةَ، وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the 'Asr prayer, then he stood up to deliver a sermon. In his sermon, he said: "Listen! Indeed, the world is very sweet and lush, and indeed Allah will make you successors in it to see how you act." This has also been narrated by Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj with his chain of transmission.
Hadith 1143
1143 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمَالِكِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، وَابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ سَنُوطَا، عَنْ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَذَاكَرَ هُوَ وَحَمْزَةُ الدُّنْيَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ، فَمَنْ أَخَذَ عَفْوَهَا بُورِكَ لَهُ فِيهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyida Khawla bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and our master Hamza (may Allah be pleased with him) spoke about the world, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the world is very sweet and green, so whoever takes from it according to his need, blessing will be placed in it for him."
Hadith 1144
1144 - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، أنا الْقَاضِي أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، مُحَمَّدٌ، نا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأُرُزِّيُّ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، نا أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي ضِرَارٍ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي ضِرَارٍ قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ، فَمَنْ أَصَابَ مِنْهَا مِنْ حِلِّهِ فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي بُورِكَ لَهُ، وَكَمْ مِنْ مُتَخَوِّضٍ فِي مَالِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَمَالِ رَسُولِهِ لَهُ النَّارُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
Sayyida Umrah bint Harith bin Abi Dhirar (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the world is lush and sweet, so whoever receives something from its lawful portion, then that is the thing in which he will be blessed. And how many are there who misuse the wealth of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and His Messenger; for them, on the Day of Resurrection, there is fire."
