Hadiths 1001 to 1200
إِنَّكَ لَا تَدَعُ شَيْئًا اتِّقَاءَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ
You do not leave something for the sake of Allah except that Allah gives you something better
Hadith 1135
1135 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ثنا زَاهِرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، أبنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، أبنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، أبنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أبنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، وَأَبِي الدَّهْمَاءِ، قَالَا: أَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ، فَقَالَ: أَخَذَ بِيَدِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلِّمَنِي مِمَّا عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ، فَكَانَ مِمَّا حَفِظْتُهُ عَنْهُ: «إِنَّكَ لَا تَدَعُ شَيْئًا اتِّقَاءَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ»
Abu Qatadah and Abu Dahma say that we came to a Bedouin man, and he said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, took my hand and taught me those things which Allah Almighty had taught him. So among the things that I remembered from what I heard from him, one was this: "Indeed, whatever you leave out of fear of Allah, Allah will grant you something better than it."
Hadith 1136
1136 - أنا بِهِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أنا ابْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، نا ابْنُ عَفَّانَ، نا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، نا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، نا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ، وَفِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، وَأَبِي بِلَالٍ رَجُلٌ قَدْ سَمَّاهُ
This hadith is also narrated through another chain from Humaid bin Hilal with his chain in the same manner, but in it, this hadith is narrated from Abu Qatadah and Abu Bilal, and they also mentioned the name of that man.
Hadith 1137
1137 - وأنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ التُّجِيبِيُّ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْبَزَّازُ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، نا سُفْيَانُ، نا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أُلْقِيَ لَهُ مِنْبَرٌ خَلَتْ قَوَائِمُهُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، فَحَفِظْتُ مِمَّا عَلَّمَنِي أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «إِنَّكَ لَا تَدَعُ شَيْئًا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ، إِلَّا أَثَابَكَ اللَّهُ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ»
Humaid bin Hilal narrates from a man, who said that I presented myself before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), a pulpit was placed for you whose legs were of iron, I memorized what you taught me, you said: "Indeed, whatever you leave for the sake of seeking Allah's pleasure, Allah will grant you something better in its place."
Hadith 1138
1138 - نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نا مُسَدَّدٌ، نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، نا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنِ الَّذِي، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ عَمَّنْ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ فَقُلْتُ: عَلِّمْنِي مِمَّا عَلَّمَكَ اللَّهُ، فَنَزَلَ وَأُلْقِيَ لَهُ كُرْسِيُّ قَوَائِمُهُ حَدِيدٌ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّكَ لَا تَدَعُ شَيْئًا اتِّقَاءَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا بَدَّلَكَ اللَّهُ مَكَانَهُ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ» قَالَ رِفَاعَةُ الْعَدَوِيُّ: «انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، رَجُلٌ غَرِيبٌ جَاءَ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ دِينِهِ لَا يَدْرِي مَا دِينُهُ، قَالَ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَرَكَ خُطْبَتَهُ فَأُتِيَ بِكُرْسِيٍّ خِلْتُ قَوَائِمَهُ حَدِيدًا، قَالَ فَقَعَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَعَلَ يُعَلِّمُنِي مِمَّا عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ، ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَى خُطْبَتِهِ فَأَتَى عَلَيْهَا»
Humaid bin Hilal narrates from the person who either asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) or heard from him. He said: I presented myself before the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he was delivering a sermon. I said: Teach me from the knowledge that Allah has granted you. The Prophet (peace be upon him) descended (from the pulpit), and a chair made of palm bark with iron legs was placed for him. Then he said: "Indeed, whatever you leave for the sake of Allah out of fear of Him, Allah will grant you something better in its place." Rifaa’ah ‘Adawi (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I presented myself before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) while he was delivering a sermon. I said: O Messenger of Allah! I am a stranger, I have come to ask you about the religion, I do not have knowledge about the religion. He says that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) descended (from the pulpit), interrupted his sermon, then a chair made of palm bark with iron legs was brought, and he began to teach me what Allah Almighty had taught him. Then he (again) ascended the pulpit for his sermon.
