Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I am grabbing hold of your waists, preventing you from (falling into) Hell, and you are falling into it just as moths and rain insects fall into the fire."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I am holding onto your waists, preventing you from the Hellfire, and you are falling into it just as moths and rain insects fall into the fire."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I am holding your waists, keeping you away from the Fire, but you are forcefully falling into it just as moths and rainy season insects fall into the fire. Soon your waists will be let go, and (listen) I will be your forerunner at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar. There you will come separately and together; I will recognize you by your marks and names just as a man recognizes a strange camel among his own camels (with ease). And you will be taken to the left side. I will plead to the Lord of the worlds about you, saying: O my Lord! These are my people, O my Lord! These are my people. Then it will be said: Indeed, you do not know what innovations they introduced after you. Indeed, after you, they kept turning back on their heels (from the religion). (Listen!) I will surely recognize among you the person who will come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a bleating goat, and he will call out: O Muhammad! O Muhammad! I will say: I can do nothing for you; I had conveyed (the message of Allah). And I will surely recognize among you the person who will come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a bellowing camel, and he will call out: O Muhammad! O Muhammad! But I will say: I can do nothing for you; I had conveyed (the message of Allah). And I will surely recognize among you the person who will come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a neighing horse, and he will call out: O Muhammad! O Muhammad! But I will say: I can do nothing for you; I had conveyed (the message of Allah). And I will surely recognize among you the person who will come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a water-skin, and he will call out: O Muhammad! O Muhammad! But I will say: I can do nothing for you; I had conveyed (the message of Allah)."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah knows about everything He has declared unlawful that surely someone among you will look into it. Beware! Indeed, I am holding your waists to prevent you from falling into the Fire (and you are falling) like moths and rain insects fall into the fire."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, my example and your example is like that of a person who kindled a fire, and when it lit up what was around him, moths and other creatures that fall into the fire began to fall into it. So I am holding you back from falling into the fire by grasping you by your waists, but you are slipping from my hands and falling into it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Humaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with me that I am grabbing you by your waists, saving you from the Fire?"
