Hadiths 1001 to 1200
إِنَّ مِنْ أَشْقَى الْأَشْقِيَاءِ مَنِ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِ فَقْرُ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ
Among the most wretched are those who combine worldly poverty and punishment in the Hereafter
Hadith 1126
1126 - أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُحْسِنُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْكِرَامِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ الدَّارِمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ أَشْقَى الْأَشْقِيَاءِ مَنِ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِ فَقْرُ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ» مُخْتَصَرٌ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Indeed, among the wretched, the greatest wretch is the one upon whom the poverty of this world and the punishment of the Hereafter are combined.” This hadith is concise.
