Hadiths 1001 to 1200
إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَالِمٌ لَمْ يَنْفَعْهُ اللَّهُ بِعِلْمِهِ
The most severely punished people on the Day of Resurrection are scholars whose knowledge did not benefit them
Hadith 1122
1122 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الطَّرَسُوسِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ الْمَالِكِيُّ، ثنا عُمَيْرُ بْنُ مِرْدَاسٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَالِمٌ لَمْ يَنْفَعْهُ اللَّهُ بِعِلْمِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, on the Day of Resurrection, the severest punishment among the people will be for that scholar whose knowledge did not benefit him from what Allah had given him.”
