إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَرَادَ بِقَوْمٍ خَيْرًا ابْتَلَاهُمْ
When Allah wants good for a people, He tests them
Hadith 1120
1120 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ذَرٍّ عَبْدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْهَرَوِيُّ، إِجَازَةً، أبنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ، عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ فِي كِتَابِ الْعِلَلِ قَالَ: رَوَى حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَرَادَ بِقَوْمٍ خَيْرًا ابْتَلَاهُمْ»
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when Allah the Exalted intends good for a people, He puts them to trial."
Hadith 1121
1121 - أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّرِيفُ أَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ الْمَيْمُونِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الْحُسَيْنِيُّ، أبنا جَدِّي الْمَيْمُونُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ الْعَسَّالُ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ زُغْبَةُ، ثنا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «إِنَّ عِظَمَ الْجَزَاءِ مَعَ عِظَمِ الْبَلَاءِ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَحَبَّ قَوْمًا ابْتَلَاهُمْ، فَمَنْ رَضِيَ فَلَهُ الرِّضَا، وَمَنْ سَخَطَ فَلَهُ السَّخَطُ»
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Indeed, the greatest reward comes with the greatest trial, and indeed, when Allah the Mighty and Majestic loves a people, He puts them to trial. Then whoever is content (with the trial), for him is pleasure, and whoever is displeased, for him is displeasure."
