إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ الْغَيْرَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ
Allah has decreed jealousy for women
Hadith 1117
1117 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الشَّاهِدُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا كَامِلٌ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ الْغَيْرَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ، وَالْحَيَاءَ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ، فَمَنْ صَبَرَ مِنْهُنَّ احْتِسَابًا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ شَهِيدٍ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah has made jealousy obligatory upon women and modesty obligatory upon men. So whoever among them is patient with the intention of reward, for him is the reward equal to that of a martyr."
