إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِقِسْطِهِ وَعَدْلِهِ جَعَلَ الرَّوْحَ وَالْفَرَحَ فِي الْيَقِينِ وَالرِّضَا
By His justice and fairness, Allah has placed comfort and joy in certainty and contentment
Hadith 1116
1116 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْفَتْحِ، مَنْصُورُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ، أبنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ رَشِيقٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْعَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَوْحٍ الْقَتِيرِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِقِسْطِهِ وَعَدْلِهِ جَعَلَ الرَّوْحَ وَالْفَرَحَ فِي الْيَقِينِ وَالرِّضَا، وَجَعَلَ الْهَمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ فِي الشَّكِّ وَالسُّخَطِ» ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ شَكَّ فِي الْفَرَجِ أَوِ الْفَرَحِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Indeed, Allah has placed comfort and happiness in contentment and certainty through His justice and fairness, while He has placed grief and distress in doubt and displeasure." The narrator is in doubt about the word "happiness or ease" (as to which of these words was actually stated).
