Hadiths 1001 to 1200
إِنَّ لِكُلِّ مَلِكٍ حِمًى، وَإِنَّ حِمَى اللَّهِ مَحَارِمُهُ
Every king has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah is His prohibitions
Hadith 1029
1029 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْبَزَّازُ، أبنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا الْعُطَارِدِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ لِكُلِّ مَلِكٍ حِمًى، وَإِنَّ حِمَى اللَّهِ مَحَارِمُهُ»
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, every king has a protected pasture, and indeed the protected pasture of Allah is that which He has declared unlawful.”
Hadith 1030
1030 - وأنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُوسَى السِّمْسَارُ، أنا أَبُو زَيْدٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفَرَبْرِيُّ، أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبُخَارِيُّ، نا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، نا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، يَقُولُ: وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ، وَفِيهِ «أَلَا وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ مَلِكٍ حِمًى، أَلَا وَإِنَّ حِمَى اللَّهِ مَحَارِمُهُ»
Aamir Sha’bi says that I heard Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) saying this, and he narrated a long hadith in which it was also mentioned: “Listen! Every king has a specific sanctuary. Listen! The specific sanctuary of Allah is that which He has forbidden.”
