Hadith 1014
1014 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْمُعَدِّلُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ، ثنا عَبَّاسٌ الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى هُوَ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ يَقُولُ: ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، أبنا مُجَالِدٌ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ حَبَشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ: «إِنَّ الْمَسْأَلَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ إِلَّا لِفَقْرٍ مُدْقِعٍ أَوْ غُرْمٍ مُفْظِعٍ»
Sayyiduna Hubshi bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say in a lengthy hadith: "Indeed, asking is only permissible for a person who is extremely needy or one who is burdened under the weight of debt."
