إِنَّ عَذَابَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ جُعِلَ فِي دُنْيَاهَا
The punishment of this nation is made in its world
Hadith 1000
1000 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْفَرَّاءُ، أبنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّافِقِيُّ، ثنا هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ فَجَعَلَ يَخْتَلِفُ إِلَيْهِ بِرُءُوسِ الْخَوَارِجِ، كُلَّمَا جِيءَ بِرَأْسٍ قُلْتُ: إِلَى النَّارِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، يَعْنِي الْخَطْمِيَّ: أَلَا تَعْلَمُ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ عَذَابَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ جُعِلَ فِي دُنْيَاهَا»
Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I was sitting with Ubaydullah bin Ziyad when the heads of the Khawarij were being brought to him one after another. Whenever a head was brought to him, I would say: For Hell. He says that then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Yazid Hatmi (may Allah be pleased with him) spoke up: O nephew! Do you not know that indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Indeed, the punishment of this Ummah has been placed in its world."
