Hadith 934
934 - وُجِدَ بِخَطِّ شَيْخِنَا أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِ الْغَنِيِّ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْحَافِظِ، ثنا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ، أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْخُرَيْمِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا ابْنُ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ شَيْخًا، بِبَيْرُوتَ يُكْنَى أَبَا عُمَرَ، أَظُنُّهُ حَدَّثَنِي , عَنُ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا، يُقَالُ لَهُ حَرْمَلَةُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهُ: الْإِيمَانُ هَهُنَا، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى لِسَانِهِ، وَالنِّفَاقُ هَهُنَا، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى قَلْبِهِ، فَلَا أَذَكَرُ اللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لَهُ لِسَانًا، ذَاكِرًا وَقَلْبًا شَاكِرًا. .، وَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا فِيهِ» وَلَا تَخْرِقَنَّ عَلَى أَحَدٍ سِتْرًا "
Ibn Jabir says that I heard an elder in Beirut whose kunya was Abu ‘Amr. I am certain that he narrated a hadith to me from Umm Darda’ that a man called Harmalah came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him), pointed to his tongue and said: “Iman is here,” and pointed to his heart and said: “Nifaq is here.” (Then he said:) “I remember Allah very little.” The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “O Allah! Make his tongue one that remembers (You) and his heart one that is grateful . . . . . .” And he narrated a long hadith in which it was also mentioned: “Never disclose anyone’s fault.”
