Hadith 868
868 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمُعَدِّلُ، أبنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. . وَذَكَرَهُ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ الْجِهَازِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمَكِّيُّ بِهَا، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ الْجِيزِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ نُوحٍ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، ثنا الْعَلَاءُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلصِّدِّيقِ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَعَّانًا» وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيِّ، نَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَفِيهِ «لِصِدِّيقٍ» بِلَامٍ وَاحِدَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that indeed the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said . . . . . . and he narrated this hadith. And with another chain of narration, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It does not befit a truthful person to be greatly given to cursing." Imam Muslim has also narrated it with his chain, and in it (instead of "al-siddiq") there is "li-siddiq" with a "lam."
