Harith reports that Ali (peace be upon him) asked his son Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) about certain things and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is no poverty greater than ignorance, no wealth that returns more than intellect, no loneliness more terrifying than self-admiration, no demonstration stronger than consultation, no wisdom like planning, no beauty like good character, no piety like refraining from sin, no worship like contemplation, and no faith like patience and modesty."

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that indeed he (peace be upon him) said: "O Abu Dharr! There is no wisdom like planning, no piety like refraining from sin, and no nobility like good character."
