Hadith 826
826 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا حَمْدَانَ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْوَرَّاقُ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ رَاشِدٍ، قَالَ: ثنا وَهَيْبٌ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا إِلَى الشَّامِ نَسْأَلُ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: أَتَيْتُمُ الشَّامَ تُسْأَلُونَ، أَمَا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَا تَزَالُ الْمَسْأَلَةُ بِالْعَبْدِ حَتَّى يَلْقَى اللَّهَ وَمَا فِي وَجْهِهِ مُزْعَةُ لَحْمٍ» وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، نَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَرْفَعُهُ: «لَا تَزَالُ الْمَسْأَلَةُ بِأَحَدِكُمْ حَتَّى يَلْقَى اللَّهَ وَلَيْسَ فِي وَجْهِهِ مُزْعَةُ لَحْمٍ»
Hamzah bin Abdullah says that we set out towards the land of Sham to beg, and when we came to Madinah, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Are you going to Sham to beg? Whereas I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A servant keeps begging until he meets Allah (on the Day of Resurrection he will meet Allah) in such a state that there will not be a piece of flesh on his face." Imam Muslim has also narrated this with his chain in a marfu' form: One of you keeps begging until he meets Allah (on the Day of Resurrection he will meet Him) in such a state that there will not be a piece of flesh on his face.
