مَا خَالَطَتِ الصَّدَقَةُ مَالًا إِلَّا أَهْلَكَتْهُ
Charity does not mix with wealth except it destroys it
Hadith 781
781 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْجُمَحِيُّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَا خَالَطَتِ الصَّدَقَةُ مَالًا إِلَّا أَهْلَكَتْهُ»
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Charity, wherever it is mixed with wealth, destroys that (wealth)."
Hadith 782
782 - أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَافِظِ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعُمَانِيُّ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ، نا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. . . وَذَكَرَهُ، قَالَ أَبِي: تَفْسِيرُهُ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ الرَّجُلُ الصَّدَقَةَ أَوِ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُوَ مُوسِرٌ أَوْ غَنِيُّ، وَإِنَّمَا هِيَ لِلْفَقِيرِ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him) . . . . . and she reported this hadith. Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Hanbal says: My father said: Its meaning is that a prosperous or wealthy person takes charity or zakat (and mixes it with his wealth), even though this charity is for the poor.
