أَنْفِقْ يَا بِلَالُ، وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا
Spend, O Bilal, and do not fear poverty from the Lord of the Throne
Hadith 749
749 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمُعَدِّلُ الصَّفَّارُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا قَيْسٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بِلَالٍ وَعِنْدَهُ صَبْرٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَقَالَ: " مَا هَذَا يَا بِلَالُ؟، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَكَ وَلِضِيفَانِكَ، قَالَ: «أَمَا تَخْشَى أَنْ يَفُورَ لَهَا رِيحٌ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ، أَنْفِقْ يَا بِلَالُ وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and there was a heap of dates with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Bilal! What is this?" He replied: "O Messenger of Allah! This is for you and your guests." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not fear that this may become smoke of the fire of Hell for you? Bilal! Spend (it) and do not fear any decrease from the One who is the Owner of the Throne."
Hadith 750
750 - وأنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، نا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، نا ابْنُ الْمُنَادِي، نا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ، نا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَا بِلَالُ أَطْعَمْنَا» ، فَأَتَى بِقَبْضٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ، فَقَالَ: «زِدْنَا» ، فَزَادَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «زِدْنَا» ، فَقَالَ: لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا شَيْئًا ادَّخَرْتُهُ لَكَ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَنْفِقْ يَا بِلَالُ وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا»
It is narrated from Masruq that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Bilal! Feed us." So he brought a handful of dates. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Give us more." So he gave you more (dates). The Prophet said: "Give us more." So he said: O Messenger of Allah! There is nothing else except these, and even these I had collected for you. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Bilal! Spend, and do not fear decrease from the One who is above the Throne."
