اقْرَأِ الْقُرْآنَ مَا نَهَاكَ
Recite the Qur'an as long as it prevents you (from evil)
Hadith 741
741 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ فَهْدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ لَمْ يَنْفَعْهُ عِلْمُهُ ضَرَّهُ جَهْلُهُ، اقْرَأْ الْقُرْآنَ مَا نَهَاكَ، فَإِذَا لَمْ يَنْهَكَ فَلَسْتَ تَقْرَؤُهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one whose knowledge does not benefit him, his ignorance will harm him. Recite the Qur'an, for it will prevent you (from evil); if it does not prevent you, then (it is as if) you have not recited it at all."
