Hadith 728
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib and Mawraq 'Ajli that Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both) went to visit Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was ill. Salman began to weep, so they said to him: O Abu 'Abdullah! What has made you weep? He said: This covenant which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took from us, but none of us has fulfilled it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said . . . . . and he narrated: "Each of you should have in this world only as much provision and share as a rider carries in his journey."
