Hadith 719
719 - أَخْبَرَنَا هِبَةُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، أبنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ طَالِبٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ أَوْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ انْجَفَلَ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهِ فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ أَتَاهُ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُ وَجْهَهُ عَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ غَيْرَ وَجْهِ كَذَّابٍ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ: أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ، وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ، وَصِلُوا الْأَرْحَامَ، وَصَلُّوا بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ بِسَلَامٍ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, people began to come to him in groups, so I was also among those who came to him. When I saw his face, I realized that this is not the face of a liar. I heard him say: "O people! Spread peace (salam) widely, feed (others), maintain ties of kinship, and pray at night when people are asleep; you will enter Paradise in peace."
