أُخْبُرْ تَقْلِهْ، وَثِقَ بِالنَّاسِ رُوَيْدًا
Tell and you will be disliked, and trust people gradually
Hadith 635
635 - أَخْبَرَنَا هِبَةُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، أبنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَاضِي الْأَذَنِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصَفَّى، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ الْمَذْبُوحُ , عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أُخْبُرْ تَقْلِهْ»
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you test people (when you test them, their inner feelings will become apparent to you, so) you will be compelled to cut off relations with them."
Hadith 636
636 - أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَقِيهُ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمَرْوَرْذِيُّ الْحَنَفِيُّ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ بِمَكَّةَ حَرَسَهَا اللَّهُ قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ حَمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْخَطَّابِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي الدُّقِّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أُخْبُرْ تَقْلِهْ، وَثِقْ بِالنَّاسِ رُوَيْدًا»
Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated it as marfu’ from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that: “Test people (when you test them, their inner feelings will become apparent to you, so) you will be compelled to cut ties with them, and place your trust in people gradually.”
