Hadiths 401 to 600
يَهْرَمُ ابْنُ آدَمَ وَتَشِبُّ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَانِ: الْحِرْصُ عَلَى الْمَالِ، وَالْحِرْصُ عَلَى الْعُمُرِ
The son of Adam grows old, but two things remain young in him: greed for wealth and greed for life
Hadith 598
598 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصُّوفِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو سَهْلٍ بِشْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْإِسْفَرَايِينِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الذُّهْلِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَهْرَمُ ابْنُ آدَمَ وَتَشِبُّ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَانِ: الْحِرْصُ عَلَى الْمَالِ، وَالْحِرْصُ عَلَى الْعُمُرِ " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى، وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ، وَقُتَيْبَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ كُلِّهِمْ عَنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The son of Adam grows old, but two things in him remain young: the desire for wealth and the desire for a long life." Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated it from Yahya bin Yahya, Sa'id bin Mansur, and Qutaybah bin Sa'id, and all of them narrated from Abu 'Awanah (may Allah have mercy on him) with a similar narration.
